Shoes of the Week 24/07/13 - Iron Fist Society Suicide Booties

Hi Guys

Firstly I would like to apologise for not posting last week. This was because my lovely sister graduated in Cardiff and we were on a little holiday down there without any laptops or Wi-Fi to speak of. It was very bizarre sitting in the ceremony knowing that I will be in same position in 2 years time.

Last week also saw this little blog hit its 1 year anniversary ! So I will be doing a special post all about this and hopefully a giveaway - keep your eyes peeled.

This weeks shoes of the week were purchased last week in Cardiff courtesy of the Bank of Dad. I'm not quite sure when I am going to wear them but I'm sure they will be admired when I do.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My shoes of the Week are Iron Fist Society Suicide Booties
These certainly do not fit the name they have been given as you will most likely be the envy of society than committing society suicide.
The sateen material is patterned with pink roses, blue flowers and tropical birds on the outside and leopard print inners. They lace up fully at the front and zip up at the back to allow ease of access as well as comfort. The heel height is 4" at the back , platform of around half an inch at the front.
They also have a cute little peep toe to show off your painted toe nails.
These were purchased in a shop in the Cardiff Arcades and were reduced to clear as they were no longer stocking Iron Fist Shoes.
RRP £75.00 Sale Price £45.00
I got these in a size 8 (Eu 41) and was a little shocked to find they fit. I generally find Iron Fist to be a bit small and narrow on the sizing but with these being fully adjustable at the front I can get them on and off easily.
Iron Fist have a lot of styles to choose from so I recommend you check out their site here : http://www.ironfist.co.uk/
Shoes of the Week - 09/07/13 Dorothy Perkins Black/Nude Pointed Courts
Hey Guys
I know I'm a bad blogger because I missed my last post but I do have a genuine reason for this - I moved back home for the summer and so last week was the final hurrah in lovely London before 3 boring months in the North.
Last week saw me take on a completely unexpected experience by being asked on a date ! This was very exciting for me but sadly the timing couldn't have been worse as I had to leave less than 5 days later.
However, I still had a brilliant week going to the science museum, picnicking in Regents Park, watching We Will Rock You and seeing several friends who are based all over the world for the next couple of months. I was very sad to leave London as I feel completely at home in the Big City but I'm looking forward to what this summer has to offer.
This weeks shoes are from Dorothy Perkins.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My shoes of the week are Dorothy Perkins Black Nude Pointed Courts

These gorgeous shoes are made for everyday wear through combining sleek and shiny nude with matt black suedette.

Offering a heel height of around 4" these shoes are designed to be worn to the office as well as on a night out. The neutral colour block pattern is unusual to find as most designers tend to keep it one tone and add embellishments but through the subtle contrast in materials and colours these shoes really work.

At £29.00 Dorothy Perkins are offering sleek and stylish shoes that can be easily be mixed and matched with your summer wardrobe at an affordable price.

Cath Kidson Sale Haul !

Hi Guys

As I mentioned in earlier posts , I went to Brighton this week. I had never been before and it was something which had been recommended to me several times because I love the seaside and hunting through all the various quirky/kitch/retro shops that normally appear there.

Brighton did not disappoint. I took a walk along the pebble beach, strolled along the seafront, played games on the pier, wandered around the pavilion and thoroughly enjoyed rooting through all the stores in the Lanes.

At the moment it is summer sale time for most shops as they begin to phase out there S/S13 collections and replace them with the A/W collection. This fact enticed me into looking into the Brighton Branch of the Cath Kidson Stores.

I always love the various vintage stylings that you can pick up in Cath Kidson but I can vary rarely afford to pick up much. However, in the sale, I was able to pick up several items for less than the full price of one.

Here is what I purchased :

Cream Pirate Print Sundress. Was £50.00 Now £25.00

Strawberry Hairclips. Was £4.00 Now £3.00
Strawberry Brooch. Was £4.00 Now £2.50

Ladybird and Bumblebee Hair slides. Was £6.00 Now £4.00
Ladybird tin brooch set. Was £6.00 Now £4.00

Alphabet Pin Badge. Was £5.00 Now £3.00

I adore the print of the sundress and can see it having several outings in the upcoming summer. The rest of the accessories will be added to my ever growing collection to be mixed and matched with various outfits and hairdos.

I'll be back next week with the latest pair of shoes I am lusting over.

Shoes of the Week 26/06/13 - River Island Silver glitter block heel jelly sandals

Hi guys

This week has been quite cultural so far as I have taken the opportunity to explore more of London. This has meant a trip to the National Gallery, The Natural History Museum and then later today I am off to the Tate Modern.

As I only have a few more weeks left here until I break up for summer I am trying to do as much as possible.  Further items on the list include visiting the Royal Observatory and attempting to get tickets for the Bowie exhibit at the V&A.

Yesterday I had a wonderful day in Brighton. I had never been before and I really loved exploring a new place, taking a walk along the beach and going on the arcade on the pier. Whilst there I also picked up a few new bits from the Cath Kidson Sale so keep your eyes peeled for a post.

This weeks shoes are from River Island and were spotted yesterday in the Brighton Store window.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My shoes of the week are Silver glitter block heel jelly sandals
The 90's are certainly back with these shoes
Jelly sandals are no longer for little kids on the beach. Given a makeover for the 21st century and all the fashionistas / festival goers out there, they are quickly becoming the "it" shoe of Summer 2013.
In a clear and silver glitter jelly these sandals are guaranteed to go with almost everything. Featuring a strong blocked heel, a cage style closed toe and a sling back buckle fastening, they offer both comfort and retro style.
If bare feet aren't your style then you can also rock two trends in one by pairing these with a bold print or neon coloured sock.
At just £22.00 these sandals are worth the investment if you fancy swapping your wellies and mud for sun and sand this summer. They are available in a wide range of sizes so go and check them out in your local River Island Store.
Summer Ball and Swing Dancing !
Hi guys
This is just a short post to show you what I wore for the LSE Summer Ball on Monday (as promised). Unfortunately there is only one full length mirror on each floor which is situated just outside of the kitchen so I could only get a few shots without being stared at.
The whole outfit:
Navy Spot Print Strapless Dress £14.99 - New Look (Shown on Website )
Skinny Belt  £5.00 (part of a set of 2) - Marks and Spencer
Pink Woven  Strap Summer Sandals £24.99 - New Look  (Shown on website )
 And a look at my jewellery, hair and make up :
Long pearl necklace £2 - Primark
Silver Pearl Bow £4.50 - Primark
I actually had a really good night. Everybody looked amazing in their dresses and suits and the drinks were relatively cheap.
Then, later on this week we decided we would go to a swing dancing night. I have always wanted to do this as the professional dancers always look amazing and make it look easy. We headed to an event run by the London Swing Cats called "The Cat's Meow" which is on once a month.
The night opens at 8pm with a taster lesson before some old school music and a live band performs. This month had "The Piccadilly Bullfrogs" performing. We learnt some basic Charlston and picked up a few steps from the regulars who were kind enough to teach us.
Here is what I wore:
Flamingo Fairy Dress £55.00 - Collectif (Shown on Website)
Cream Bow Dolly Shoes £8.00 - Primark
And a close up:
Pink Flower Clips £1.99 (per pair) - H&M
The group of us who went had a really good night and a few spins on the dance floor with new partners. I think it will be a regular haunt once we are back in September and have actually mastered a few swing steps.
I'll be back later this week with a fabulous pair of shoes
Shoes of the Week 17/06/13 - Very Love Label Goodwin Slingback
Hey Guys
This week has been a funny one - it feels like we have done a lot but in reality all we seem to have done is chill out. (Not necessarily a bad thing after the past few weeks). The weather has been quite good so a trip to regents park for a kick around was a must, then this weekend I managed to get back behind a drum kit for band practice once more. It feels so good to be free !
Tonight is the end of year summer ball which I am very excited about as it means an excuse to get dressed up and celebrate in the traditional English way. Hopefully I will post some pictures from the night and my outfit later this week.
Meanwhile, this weeks shoes are inspired by the amount of balls/proms/valedictory events going on across the country.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My shoes of the week are the Love Label Goodwin Slingback Shoes

In this seasons hottest colour, classical style and  with a modern twist , there is no way you can go wrong with these shoes.

The sling back heel secures them to your foot with ease and the adjustable buckle means the perfect fit. The silver capped heel creates a focal point sure to be noticed when wearing with a skirt, a dress or jeans. Featuring a heel height of 3.5 inches they are ideal for day to night transitioning or for adding the final touch to any outfit.

Originally £35.00, these are currently on sale for just £10 !

There are a range of sizes available and Very offer several payment options so even the most cash strapped student can afford them.

I would definitely recommend checking out the rest of the Very Sale as there are lots of unusual designs and designers on offer.

Shoes , Shoes and More Shoes...

Hi guys

I know I said I would post at least once a week but Uni exams had to take priority. However, I am back with not just one pair but 3 (!) pairs of shoes to show you that I have bought in the past week to celebrate end of term and the arrival of summer.

At the moment I am on a little holiday at home to distress and chill out before returning for another month in the big city. The sun is shining, the cider is cold and the shorts are on. This is exactly what was needed after 6 intense weeks of revision, revision , revision.

I would also like to point out that after not buying any shoes in 8 weeks , within 3 days of being at home I was coerced into buying 3 pairs. I blame the mother.

The first pair are from New Look.

Mint/Aqua Green Platform sandals
RRP £24.99
Bought in Sale for £5.00

After not wearing heels for over 6 months, these were certainly a big step up. They feature a cork platform heel front and stacked heel of over 5 inches , cross over straps and buckle fastening. The stacked platform balances these heels out perfectly so you feel comfortable and secure when walking around in them and the cross over buckled up strap around the ankle only adds to this. These were found in the New Look sale section for just £5. Bargain !

The next pair are also from New look.

Black Cross Over Medium Wedges
RRP £19.99

These summer sandals give you an added few inches without the pain of high heels. A black suede material coats the entire shoe and the cross over straps creates an interesting but not over the top finish , perfect for both daytime and evening. These were purchased for a few nights out I have coming up so that I can continue to dance all night long and still be able to walk the morning after. The wedge is just right for walking as it pivots nicely, creating a slight rocking motion as you stride. I got these in a size 7 as my usual size 8 felt a little big and the straps are quite adjustable- great if you have wide feet.

The last pair I picked up are also my current favourites.

Converse Gladiator Sandals from Schuh.
RRP £42.00

After a few dismal attempts to try and give a summer sandal I think Converse have finally hit the nail on the head. Based off the classic white slim fit all stars , these gladiator style sandals feature several cut outs along the sides and open toes. The key components that make Converse unique are still included such as the Chuck Taylor branding on the ankle and the lace up tabs as well as the rubber soles. They also have zips along the back of the shoes to make them easy to get on and off.

I have been wearing these all day and they are probably the comfiest and coolest pair of sandals I have ever owned. The rubber soles give the protection of a trainer whilst the cut outs give your feet plenty of air. They really are the perfect hybrid and if white isn't your colour they are also available in black.

So as you can see, plenty of shoes to keep me going for the next few weeks. I hope you are all enjoying the sun as much as I am and I will be back this week with another gorgeous pair of shoes.

Shoes of the Week - 24/05/13 Primark Beige Mouse Flats

Hey guys

This week has seen me start my exams in London and so life here has consisted of revision and not much else. Thankfully I am now halfway through but still got another 2 weeks to contend with. As such I haven't had much free time but I did take a wander into my local Primark and this is where I found this weeks shoes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My shoes of the week are the Beige Mouse Face Flats from Primark.
They are so cute !
These dolly shoes come in a biscuit shade of beige with black soles. The main feature is the gorgeous mouse face made up of 2 glittery ears partially sewn on and sewn in eyes and whiskers. They have a low rise edge that means your feet are allowed to breathe and have a slightly pointed rounded toe.
I got them in a size 8 which fit a little big for me. This is surprising considering Primark's shoes tend to run on the smaller side. I am probably going to swap them for a 7 or try them with an insole so they fit better on bare feet.
At £8 they are one of my favourite summer buys .
Whilst on the same trip I also picked up 2 sets of rings at £2 per pack.
These were a pack of 8 nautical themed rings. (4 x silver, 4 x gold)
These were a pack of 3 kooky pastel face rings.
For once this was a cheap trip. I really suggest checking out your local Primark if you are off on holiday as they have some great shoes and sandals in.
Shoes of the Week - 14/05/13 - Irregular Choice Love Dove
Hi guys
This weeks shoes of the week are made by the ever gorgeous Irregular Choice. Check them out...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My shoes if the week are Irregular Choice Love Dove

I have fallen in love with these fabulous shoes.

Featuring bronze doves attached to metallic leather straps and a cut out heel these shoes are made for the stylish. A neutral colour palette means that they can be paired with almost anything whilst the stacked wedge backwards heel creates an unusual look for the wearer. With every pair of irregular choice shoes you are guaranteed a bit of quirk and printed soles - this pair are no different.

At £125 they are quite expensive , especially as you will not be wearing them everyday but for a truly original pair of shoes you can look no further.

Overall I give 8/ 10

London Living - What a week !

Hey guys

Just thought I would check in and fill you in with what I have been up to.

This last week has been ridiculously busy for me and also very stressful. Last Monday was moving day back to London. This meant that once again, I had to pack up everything that I would need for the next 3 months into 2 huge holdalls.  The only problem this time was that I had to bring all my text books with me as exam season has officially hit.  Cue little old me having to hulk 40 stones (!!!!) worth of clothes, shoes , books and essentials halfway across the country by myself.

I managed to get into my accommodation ok and proceeded to do the rounds, seeing everyone from Uni and catching up with what they had been up to during the holidays. This left me on Monday night unpacking until 2 am with my first class at 9 am... Not a brilliant idea.

Tuesday hit like a tonne of bricks as our lecturers reminded us of the upcoming exam season with less than 3 weeks until my first. Needless to say the textbooks and revision became a top priority until later on  Tuesday night when some friends decided they wanted a revision break in the form of a walk and I had to show them where to go.  We ended up on a mini pub crawl around Camden Town before heading back to our local to round the night off. It was exactly what was needed after my first day.

On Wednesday I had arranged to go house hunting with my fellow flat mates. After a couple of phone calls and 2 viewings we decided to go for a great flat in Camberwell. Within the space of 2 hours we had officially got a house to live in next year, and the best bit is the 1 year contract meaning that I will become an official Londoner !

Thursday was a busy work day as I prepared to host my sister over the weekend. Trying to cram 3 days worth of revision and lectures into 1 day is very hard and extremely tiring.

So far my longest day has been last Friday. A 9 am, 2 hour lecture is extremely painful, follow this up with another 2 hour revision session , break for lunch , more revision and then 2 classes- Friday is a long day. I then went straight to Paddington to pick up my lovely Sister who was visiting, to wait another hour due to delays. I was practically asleep by the time she turned up and we hadn't even had dinner yet. Another trek across London to Tesco and two ready meals later saw us playing tipsy ping pong and up until 2 am.

This weekend has also been amazing. We walked round Camden Market , lunched on Oxford Street, saw "The Tempest" at the Globe Theatre with Colin Morgan and visited the British Museum.

Now we are coming to the end of bank holiday Monday and I'm so glad I had today off.

So as you can see - very busy and hectic. I have a feeling that the next few weeks will be similar so posts will be a bit sporadic but I haven't forgot. I have an amazing set of shoes for this week so keep an eye out for them soon.

Shoes of the Week - 21/04/13 - Clarks & Liberty Collection Propose Dress Sandal

Hi Guys

This week has certainly been an adventurous one for me. I've been to netball games , eaten in pubs , gone for drinks and even had a little day trip to Birmingham to meet up with some friends from Uni. I then followed this up with a double shift at work to earn some extra cash to splash for my first week back in London.

I can't believe how much I miss my life in the big city ! Everything is so different and there is certainly a North/South divide in terms of pricing. 1 more week left at home is both a sad and happy thought but these exams won't pass themselves.

This weeks shoes are taken from a really cool collaboration between Clarks and Liberty's of London Fabrics. Check them out ...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This weeks shoe are the Clarks and Liberty Propose Dress Sandal.
Magenta leather uppers, a wedge heel and rubber grips on the soles makes these sandals both fashionable and purposeful. The buckles are fully adjustable and Clarks offer a variety of sizes and widths to cater for everyone.
The fabric on the heel is taken from the Liberty Arts Fabric archive and each pair of shoes will be slightly different due to the pattern cut. The magenta suede picks out the purple in the pattern perfectly and is designed to be eye catching but not overpowering.
Certainly the ideal shoe to be wearing this spring/summer and at £49.99 they are not an expensive purchase for true comfort and effortless style.
Overall I give 8 / 10.
I'll be back soon.
Shoes Of The Week 13/04/13 - TUK Black Polka Dot Cat Courts
Hi Guys
This weeks been quite a busy one as I've been catching up with a few people from home before we all head back to Uni and exams. Tuesday night saw us hit the local town for student night which was so much fun !
I've also been back at work for a few shifts which I really enjoyed but have really tired me out.
This weeks shoes I think are really cute and I just love.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This week shoes are TUK Black Polka Dot Cat Bow Court Shoes

Who needs boring heels when you can have kitty feet ! I think these are just purr-fect.

Featuring a black and white contrast polka dot print and cat heads on the toes these shoes are designed to add a quirky edge. The medium heel keeps them comfortable and fashionable and the bright red bow makes them eye catching without them being over the top.

These are currently available online from New Look  at £49.99 but they are moving quick so if you want them - get them !

Overall I give a 7 / 10 - lovely but expensive and limited in sizing.

Shoes of the Week 04/04/13 - Dr Martens "Louie" Tattoo Boot

Hi guys

It's that time of the week again and I have a great pair for you. This weeks shoes were actually purchased last weekend as an Easter egg gift for me. Safe to say I was very happy on Sunday when I received a shoe box and some chocolate so, without further ado, here they are ...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My shoes of the week are the Dr Martens Louie Boots
For those of you who have been following my blog it will come as no surprise that I just adore Dr Marten boots. It has been a love story that has lasted years and every time a new season appears I know I am likely to acquire another pair for my collection.
I spotted this design about 2 months ago in London whilst browsing the new collection and made a mental note to check them out next time I hit a store.  On Saturday we had a little trip to Liverpool and I came across them in one of the shoe stores in the St Johns Centre for far less than the RRP listed on the website.
Due to the price I was a little dubious of the authenticity so I checked them out thoroughly to make a comparison in the official DM shop in Liverpool One. Luckily they worked out and we went back to purchase them.
They are gorgeous.
Featuring traditional sailor tattoo prints across white leather the pin up girl and punk inside me can be happy that these two worlds have merged. The art is spectacular and inspiring me for my next tattoo. The leather is supple and easily moulds to my feet and the 8 eyelets allow you to choose how to wear them , adapting for various outfits.
So far they have been a huge hit in shorts, tights, jeans and dresses. I honestly believe that there is nothing that they will not go with.
This now makes 10 pairs of docs for me but I love and wear them all and really feel that you get value for money.
I give them 10/10 !
You're A Wizard Harry ! (Photo Heavy Post)
Hi guys
This post has been sat in my waiting to be published folder for a while now so I thought it was about time you actually got to see what we got up to when we went on  the Warner Brothers Studio Tour in London.
*SPOILER ALERT*
This post contains pictures from the Harry Potter studios. If you wish to see them for yourself and be surprised then look away now.
Still here ?
Then welcome to the wizarding world of Harry Potter ...
We took a train from London Euston to Watford Junction and from there we got the shuttle bus ran by the studio. The bus cost £1.50 for a single trip or £2 return and it was decorated with promotional pictures on the outside. Once on board a dvd plays to help transform you from muggle to magic.
20 mins later you arrive at the studio
You have to queue up to collect your tickets and the website advises you get to the studio 45 mins before your tour is due to start. This is because at busy times it may take this long to collect your tickets and get inside. Luckily we went on a Wednesday during term time so the place was pretty quiet.
On inside you are greeted by a few props and pictures:
We had 20 minutes to kill before our tour was due to start so we checked out the shop.
I didn't think to take a picture of the actual shop but it was AMAZING ! The prices were also reasonable on most of the items.
I picked up a Ravenclaw scarf for £25 to wear on the way around.
(Excuse the mad tired look- I hadn't been sleeping very well at this point)
We then headed for our tour. Here are some highlights ...
The end of the tour actually leads you back out to the shop where we all purchased a few souvenirs. We had spent about 3 hours going around the sets but I would recommend leaving a little bit longer if you are a big Harry Potter Fan because there is just so much to see and do.
I had a great time and felt you definitely got value for money.
To purchase tickets or to find out more go to :   http://www.wbstudiotour.co.uk/
Hope you are all well
