Shoes Of The Week 25/09/12 - Office Stitch Up

Hello again

I hope you have all checked out my last post showing off what I bought in the New Look sale.

Things are really getting busy round here as I make sure everything is in order before I zoom off on saturday. My bags are now packed (sadly only room for 8 pairs of my extensive shoe collection) and train tickets are booked. It really has seemed a long time coming now so I can't wait to meet new people and discover the capital.

I am also currently composing a "London Bucket List". Things I want to see and do whilst I live and study in London so if you habe any suggestions feel free to comment or tweet me at @MissGoody2s.

This weeks shoes are from Office and look fabulous !

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My shoes of the week are these Office Stitch Up Red Suede Shoes
Aren't they adorable ?! I imagine if snow white needed shoes then these would be the ones for her.
With a large bow detail to the front they draw the eye to your feet and add a bit of girly fun to an outfit. The small heel is enough to give a bit of added height and the cut out finishes them off nicely.
If red isn't the colour for you then they also come in black which makes them great for the office or for matching with a multitude of clothing.
They also go up to a UK size 9 which is even better for larger footed ladies (like me) who can sometimes struggle to find good heels , let alone shoes.
At £65 for leather uppers and lining these are great value for money. The only downside I can find is that you have to slip these on rather than fasten them to fit making them slightly troublesome for wider feet as the band may not expand enough to fit in the size you need.
I will certainly keep my eye out for these the next time I'm instore so I can find my size and buy these beauties.
Overall I give an 8 / 10
New Look Sale Stuff (Small Haul)
Hi guys
This is just a quick post to show off what I have bought in the New Look Sale. I regularly shop in New Look so the sale is a must shop opportunity. This was perfect for me as it has fallen just before I head off to Uni.
I didn't pick up as much as I would do normally because I'm trying to save some money for shopping in London next week but I still picked up 5 items.
The first item is this Blue and Black Striped Peplum Style top.
This is was previously put in work/office range area of my local store but I really liked the collar and peplum style combined. As a curvy lady the peplum hides a multitude of sins whilst the collar gives it a bit of quirk.                                                                                                    Normal Price : £16.99     Sale Price : £9
The Next Item I picked up were these Leather Panelled Leggings.
 I bought a pair similar to these in the Next Sale at the beginning of summer and LOVE them so when I saw these in my size I had to pick them up.                          Normal Price: £12.99       Sale Price: £6
I also picked up this Body Con Zip Front Dress.
This dress looks great on and will go with a multitude of shoes. I intend to be rocking this during freshers week when I want a quick going out outfit.
Normal Price: £12.99      Sale Price: £6
The last piece of clothing I picked up was a Khaki Skull Printed Oversized T-shirt.
Khaki green isn't a colour I would normally go for but I really liked the skull design and it is everywhere at the minute so I thought I'd give it a try.
Normal Price : £12.99     Sale Price: £5
The last item I picked up was a pair of shoes. Normally I don't really pick up trainer type shoes in New Look as I have found them to be narrow and short on the sizes but I went out on a limb for these and was pleased to discover they fit nicely.
Tartan Fabric Baseball Style Hi Top Trainers.
Normal Price : £12.99  Sale Price: £6
My lovely purchases have now been packed ready to go on Saturday morning. I look forward to styling these in the next few weeks and may even consider posting outfits if I can find a helpful camera person in my halls.
Hope you are all enjoying your Monday and I'll be back tomorrow with my chosen shoes.
Shoes Of The Week 18/09/12 - Iron Fist All Star Wedges
Hi guys
Once again I'm back with a fabulous pair of shoes to show to you.
This past week has been eventful with my leaving meal at work on Wednesday, saying goodbye to a few friends as they embark on the journey to Uni and actually beginning to get all of my stuff together before I move on the 29th.
I can't believe the time is almost here when 1 month ago I had no idea where I would be or what I would be doing. You also don't realise how much stuff you need just to carry on as normal in another location (hair dryer, toaster, shoes, hats, mum... etc) until you begin to get your stuff together for Uni.
The hardest bit about leaving will probably trying to fit everything in just 3 holdalls and saying goodbye to my parents after they have helped me unpack. However I am looking forward to starting a new chapter in my life, especially in London.
The shoes I have picked this week are a pair I have wanted for about 9 months now but still refuse to pay the RRP for them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My shoes of the week are these Iron Fist All Star Platform Wedges.

Channelling the American vibe with stars and stripes you wont feel out of place in the USA. Featuring a wide red and white stripe wedge heel and platform, star print upper and additional buckle straps and studs these boots certainly give the "Wow" factor.

The lace up front gives a tight fit to your foot, the platform front balances the high wedge nicely and the buckles give more of a decorative than functional design. The wedge itself isn't too heavy making these boots ready to wear after only a few minutes in them.

At a RRP of £110 they don't come cheap but with a clever search on the Internet or bargain hunting on eBay you may be able to get them for about half price.

Typical Iron Fist shoes do come up a little small in the UK sizing as they are mainly manufactured in the USA but are standardised across the range so I would recommend trying on before you bid or buy.

The only problem I can see with owning these fabulous boots is finding an outfit to complement them but I'm sure with these on your feet nobody will care about the rest of your clothes.

Overall I give a 9 / 10

Shoes of the Week 11/09/12 - Irregular Choice Skyline Courts

Hi guys

I'm now feeling much better and almost back to normal now. The last couple of days have seen me pottering around the house doing some preliminary packing and arranging to meet up with friends before we head off to Uni.

I've also had my last day at work which was sad as I really enjoyed my time there but I'm looking forward to our leavers meal tomorrow so I can celebrate in style.

I've also just come back from having my hair dyed which is why this post is a bit later than normal. I've wanted my hair done since the end of June but have never had the time or resources at the same time. It was a mid red/light brown but is now a deep claret red. (The exact hair colour and dye can be seen here )

Anyway, Its Tuesday so that means "Shoes of the Week" time.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This weeks shoes are these Black and white irregular choice cortesan skyline courts
Irregular Choice are a familiar brand on my shoe lust list as they are known for making fabulous and quirky into (somewhat) practical shoes. Several Irregular Choice pairs caught my eye when I went looking this week but I finally decided on the courtesan skyline courts because they feature one of the worlds most famous sights - the New York skyline.
In classic monochrome the detail in these shoes stands out for itself. Each building is attached to the other and some colour is injected through the multicoloured windows designed to represent the glitz and glamour of the New York street. You can't forget Lady Liberty , who also features on the back heel of the shoe in a somewhat abstract style.
The heels do not pose a tripping problem at 10 cm / 4" high and the gradient from heel to floor is not likely to cause pain once used to walking around in the slightly unconventional shape of shoe.
At £70 they are also one of the cheaper pairs of Irregular Choice shoes available.
If you can't afford to travel to the "Big Apple" then you may want to think about investing in these shoes so you can take your own piece of it home.
Overall I give an 8 /10 - lust worthy shoes with bags of style but with little oppotunity to wear and an expensive price tag.
Girls' Day Out , Manchester 7 - 9th Sept. Peter Andre Guest Appearance
Hi all
I am sorry I haven't posted much this week . I had planned to give an update on Wednesday but I have unfortunately been struck down by a mystery virus which is only just fading now. Illness aside, I did manage to make it out to the "Girls' day Out" held in Manchester over the weekend.This is the first time the event has been run outside of Glasgow and I think the organisers did a great job.
Described as "Three days of catwalk shows, Girls' Day Out dancers, cocktail bars, celebrity appearances, makeovers, hair salons, style surgeries and lots more!" on the website I was excited to go and see what was going on.
I went on Friday , accompanied once more by my shopping accomplice (Mum) and arrived at about 11 O'clock. Tickets were available on the door at £15 per adult , £12 for concessions and Under 16s were just £10. We had already purchased our tickets using a "Wowcher" offer , getting 2 adult tickets for £14.
After buying tickets you were then presented with 2 vouchers - one for a free goody bag , the other for a voucher book, which could be collected from stalls within the exhibition centre. We quickly made our way to claim our goody bags and here's what mine contained :
Upon comparison with my mums the only difference was that I received a small Max Factor eyeshadow and she received a 3rd nail polish instead. Not too bad for a freebie !
We then had a walk around the various stalls offering everything from hair extensions to botox , make up to manicures and several stalls offering photo shoots at discounted prices. There was easily over 100 different businesses and both high street and boutiques were mixed in together.
In between the stalls were a couple a bars offering a free "Pinky" vodka cocktail and a few stages which were offering catwalk shows and dancers.
Here's a shot of the hunky dancers and a view of the inside :
We were also lucky enough to be near the back stage when Fridays celebrity guest arrived - the one and only Peter Andre. I was towards the back and side of the crowd so I apologise for the photo quality.
Whilst we didn't end up buying anything much we both had a great time. Mum received a free Benefit cosmetics makeover and I got to check out the latest A/W 12 collection from Debenhams and check out the Urban decay stand without being pressured to buy.
Sadly the event is now over in Manchester but will be returning to Glasgow in November. Checkout the website here : http://www.girlsdayoutshow.co.uk/
If you get the chance to check it out in the future I would recommend thinking about it as a great day out with mum, grandma or friends. There was even a few hen parties in on Friday !
I'll be back on Tuesday with my shoes of the week.
Speak to you soon
Shoes Of The Week 04/09/12 - Topshop Mandolin Heart Shoes
Hi Guys
This last week has been quite a hectic one filled with appointments to try and sort out all the technical stuff they don't tell you about when you apply for uni e.g. insurance, student accounts and freshers week preparations. I think I'm getting mostly on top of it now but still got a few more bits to do before move in (T-minus 3 week 5 days).
It's beginning to feel real that I will be living and studying in London which makes me both extremely excited and nervous at the same time but hopefully it will be where I want to be. The next big hurdle I will have to face is packing a 3 month wardrobe into 2 holdalls and reducing 80 pairs of shoes down to 8 ...
Anyway , this weeks shoes of the week are courtesy of Topshop and are brand new in store this week.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My Shoes of the Week are the Mandolin Heart Point Shoes in black.

I came across this pair whilst catching up on whats new in at Topshop and loved them.

The spot overlay hints back to the 50s/60s giving a new 'old' feel to the shoes and fits in perfectly with the upcoming trends for autumn. The studded heart is both girly and punk rock fitting the ideas of grunge and goth, both big for A/W 12, and the pointed toe will look great with cropped trousers or as an alternative to a heel.

They also come in a nude version (Found here) which are great as a "wear with anything , do anything" kind of shoe.

At £24 they do seem quite expensive for a pair of flats but, for Topshop I think this is quite reasonable because most shoes start at £28.

I can certainly see these being great transitional shoes as we head in to the colder months due to the versatility. I would wear them with a tartan pencil skirt and a band t-shirt now and cropped tweed trousers and a blazer in the winter.

I give a score of 9 / 10 for these and can't wait to get my hands on them when they hit the stores.
