Primark Shoe Haul - Everyday Basics

Hello All

This weeks post is a little bit different. Rather than pick one pair of shoes this week I thought I would show off the 3 pairs I picked up from fabulous Primark this week. These were bought for everyday wear and show off some of the great range of basic shoes Primark has on offer at the moment.

The first pair are these :

Black Hi-Top Sneakers
£7 (On offer for £4.90)

I always seem to grab a pair of these when I find them in Primark because they are really comfy and great value for money. I am a big lover of sneakers but hate the price tag that comes with the branded versions because I will literally walk through these in 3 months. The boot version are great for wearing with leggings or tights and the black pair can be matched with almost anything and still look cool.

The other pairs I got were these:

Red Bow Detail Dolly Shoes £5
Black Slipper Style Flats £4

The red shoes were bought to be worn to a wedding as I could no longer wear my original heels due to a broken toe. They fitted perfectly, which is rare for flat shoes in large sizes as they are normally too big or tight in the wrong places. They are made from canvas and have a bow on the front with a gold "grate" detail over the middle of the bow. Very comfortable shoes and lasted well in the wet winter weather.

The black slipper shoes were bought for University and any possible work experience I may have. I already own a pair of black dolly shoes but rather liked the slipper style of these shoes and couldn't resist the price tag. They have a soft suedette feel to the uppers and the front comes up to just above your toes allowing maximum manoeuvrability.  I can't wait to give these a proper try out at Swing Dancing.

That's all for shoes. I did pick up a few other bits and bobs from Primark and can't wait to visit again as there Spring/Summer collection looks set to be bright, bold and fun.

Shoes of the Week 19/02/13 - Topshop Swoon Heart Print Slippers

Hello all

Once again I'm back with a fab pair of shoes to show you. This week has once again been pretty uneventful with the exception of a Friday night spent Swing Dancing in Shoreditch. As part of the Swing Dance Society we get to check out several events across London and the bars and dancers are always friendly and fun. I love getting dressed up in my best retro gear and showing off our beginners moves. It was also Valentines day so what better way for a singleton to meet new people than to be offered a dance ?

This weeks shoes are inspired by the month of love and I cant wait to get them on my feet.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My shoes of the week are Swoon Heart Print Slippers from Topshop.
Are you swooning at the sight of them ? I know I am.
Featuring a bright red background with white heart pattern these super cute slippers are designed to bring cheer and romance to your outfits in these dismal days.
The classic slipper design can be worn in bare feet or kept cosy through being paired with tights. Ideal for transitioning from winter to spring , or even into the summer.
If red isn't your thing then great news !
They also come in black too so you can wear them everyday.
At £28 I'd grab a pair now because I doubt that these will be around for long.
However, the price definitely reflects the quality so if you really want to make these last then I suggest easy wear or saving them for special occasions.
Shoes of the Week 13/02/14 - New Look Chunky Block Heel Chelsea Boots
Hello all
Another fairly quiet week here again with the exception of a night out to an old favourite "The Roadhouse" in Covent Garden. After not going out for a while the swing dance girls decided to let our hair down for a bit and have a fairly classy night. We went on a Thursday as this is when a band plays for the majority of the night giving the place a gig atmosphere whilst offering a place to sit down and enjoy the cocktails on offer. I really like Roadhouse as its not too crowded most of the time and even the DJ sets are good, the only downside is the prices when on a student budget (£7 a cocktail).
This weeks shoes were spotted after I took a walk over to Marble Arch. I don't normally venture that far up Oxford Street because my feet normally kill from ding the main stretch but I had some stuff to do in the area so I thought I would check out what was on offer. The New Look at that end is really big and I couldn't resist a look in.
My shoes of the week are Black Patent Chunky Block Heel Chelsea Boots
I don't know why I love these so much but they are gorgeous.
The chunky heel is made from rubber, offering stability as well as grip. The patent uppers are soft giving you the chance to move about freely without the chance for blisters or cuts and the elastic is very giving which meant I could slip them on easily when trying them on in store.
The Chelsea boot is everywhere this season so I would definitely recommend getting your hands on a pair soon. Team them with leggings and a jumper now or toughen up a summer dress and a denim jacket in the warmer weather.
At £29.99 this pair is well priced and New Look have plenty more designs on sale for about the same cost. I tried on a size 7 in tights and they fit my standard size 8 feet just fine so I think you should probably try before you buy to make sure you are getting the right size
(Although for a cheaper matte alternative check out Primark £15)
Shoes of the Week 08/02/14 - Irregular Choice "Iced" Felix the Fearless
Hello guys
Phew, what a week its been. As halfway point of term creeps closer my work pile begins to reach the ceiling and my head is beginning to get buried beneath the books. Unfortunately I have done nothing exciting this week to tell you about so instead I  bring you some rather fabulous shoes.
This weeks pair are from irregular choice, a favourite brand of mine but I'm still yet to own a pair (hint hint).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My shoes of the week are Felix The Fearless by ICED at Irregular Choice.

Aren't they just Purrfect ?

In contrast to Irregular Choice's normal heels and high class designs comes ICED. This collection is designed to give the quirkiness often associated with Irregular choice but with movability and wear ability.

This design just stood out to me as I love the cat face embroidery. Combine this with a tweed background and you have one classy and fabulous trainer. They feature rubber soles with a "drippy ice cream" finish. The best bit is that they come in 3 different colours: red, black and a grey/blue.

At a retail price of £59.00 they aren't the cheapest shoes around but you are paying for the quality and design and in comparison with some other trainers out there I know I would rather splash the cash on these cuties.

Shoes Of The Week 30/01/14 - River Island Tropical Print Court

Hi all

My regular post is back with a bang and to prove my dedication to you all I'm writing this from the LSE library at 10 am ! This week has been long and intense and my work pile is slowly mounting up as I try and complete everything so I can enjoy some time off later on in the term when I have a few events planned.

Since my last post I have gained a few new followers - so whether new or old readers I just want to say thanks for visiting my little space on the interweb.

This weeks shoes are from River Island and have left me dreaming of tropical weather in this dreary rain.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My shoes of the week are Yellow Tropical Print Pointed Court
With the new year well and truly here its about time we get ready for spring to hit, and what better way to do so than by introducing these quirky courts into your wardrobe.
A bright azure blue background with lemon print fabric gives the traditional court shoe a modern update worthy of Vincent Van Gough. The artsy style means these can stand out with some classic blue jeans or be paired with a bright pink dress to make a statement to the world. You can even mix and match with the matching clutch bag on sale here .
The heel height of just over 4 inches offers stability and the plastic soles offers fair grip on most surfaces. However, you must be aware that these shoes were not designed for everyday use and so are best saved for special occasions (even if that is just making yourself feel good).
At £50 you get what you pay for - stand out shoes with an exceptional price tag.
 I'd grab these now and save them for your holidays to give Cocktail Hour a truly tropical twist.
A long break and some new jewellery...
Hi guys
Gosh it's been a while. I don't really have an excuse apart from real life and everything that comes with it. In the time I've been away I've had a wonderful summer , moved in to a flat in London with 3 guys and a girl (I'm crazy and I know it) , joined the swing dance society and started my second year at LSE. This has brought it's own trials and tribulations but I'm managing to get through them as much as I know how.
In the mean time I've updated the layout and the logo but it is a work in progress and I have new things to show you ! I took a trip to Portobello Road and Bond Street recently and this is what I bought.
Cream Girl Jumper £5 - Portobello Market
Skull Spider Web Compact Necklace £23 (reduced from £78) - Butler & Wilson
Skull Cover Watch £17 (Reduced from £58) - Butler & Wilson
"Kiss" Key Necklace £11.40 (reduced from £38) - Butler & Wilson
I loved the jumper as it is really cute and perfect for the slightly warmer winter weather. Even better at £5!
The Butler & Wilson jewellery was an unexpected bonus for me. I have quite a few pieces from their various collections now and particularly love the "eye" collection as part was given to me for my 18th. The South Molton Street shop was doing the last day of sales when I checked it out so all of the items were reduced up to 70% off. Of course I couldn't resist a bargain and ended up with this little lot.
Check out their website at: www.butlerandwilson.co.uk
I'll be back with some shoes next time
