Goody Two , Goody Two , Goody Goody Two Shoes

Hi Guys

As some might recognise from the title, this post is going to be about the delightful Adam Ant. I have always been a fan of the 80's especially the music so when I heard that he (Adam Ant) was playing near me I had to get tickets.

I went last night (25/08/12) to the Parr Hall in Warrington accompanied by a friend who was doing me a favour by coming but ended up really enjoying the music. We had tickets for upstairs as didn't fancy being crushed in the crowds in standing and believed that not many students would be making an appearance to this particular gig (Creamfields/Reading/Leeds Festivals all clashed).

This was not my first time at a concert at Parr Hall so I knew what to expect when arriving. We turned up at 7:30 as this was the time posted on the tickets for doors opening but found that this had been changed to 7 pm and not been relayed back. This meant that most of the front seats on the top balcony had been taken so we were forced to sit further back and that the support act were already half way through their set.

"Johnny Normal" are a duo of guitar, synth and drum machine based pop rock. The music was easy to sing along to so made for quite a good opening act and related well to the 80's genre, echoing early house and electric sounds.

They finished at 8 pm so we had half an hour to wait til the main act. During this time we visited the bar and merch stand. Overall prices weren't too bad. In the bar it cost £2.60 for half pint of Strongbow and a glass of Lemonade and at the merch stand I picked up the tour T-shirt for £20.

After making our way back to the seats we eagerly awaited the legend of Adam Ant accompanied by "The Good , The Mad and The Lovely Posse".

He did not disappoint.

The atmosphere was electric, the crowd were excited and the music was loud. He was scheduled to play an hour and a half set which consisted of classics such as "Stand and Deliver", "DogEatDog" and "Goody Two Shoes" as well as some newer ones due to be released on his album next year.

Following this the crowd demanded an encore as we had yet to hear "Prince Charming". Once again they took to the stage and played 6 songs including 2 covers - "Get It On" and "20 Century Boy".

At 58, Adam Ant and his posse certainly proved good music doesn't have an age limit or needs to be fashionable. This icon will continue to rock hard to pull off a naval jacket with a pirate hat and deliver to his fans.

Highlights include when "Prince Charming" was performed during the encore and the crowd of 600 joined in with the actions and "Stand and Deliver" as several wannabe highway men and women made an appearance in the crowd.

Tickets for his next tour and official merchandise are available at : http://www.adam-ant.net/contents.html.

If you get the chance to attend a concert i would definitely recommend you going.

See you all soon
