Primark Picks - Jan 2013

Hi guys

Whilst I have a bit of free time I thought I would do this lovely blog post for you. As you can tell from the title this is essentially my Primark haul from January. I've been on a couple of trips recently and accumulated a fair amount of stuff which I love and have worn. Having a Primark at the top of the road is a blessing and a curse because you can never just pick up the one thing and I had to make 2 trips last week because I got distracted and didn't actually buy what I went in for (I'm sure I'm not the only one who has done this ?).

To try and reduce the amount of photos I have grouped similar items together.

So that's everything I have bought from Primark in the last couple of weeks. I feel most of the T-shirts are value for money as I go through them like no tomorrow and I love the shirt dress which is just in time for Valentines day.

Sale Shoe Shopping - New Look , Topshop and Primark

Hi guys

I hope you have all had a fabulous Christmas and haven't stuffed yourself with too much turkey. I had a good day but my favourite bit of Christmas is definitely Boxing day where you can hit the sales , enjoy the left overs and relax that everything is almost done until next year.

This post is here to show you my most recent shoe purchases. Some of these were bought last week on my trip to the Manchester and the others have been purchased in the last couple of days.

My first pair were purchased in New Look during their Shoe Sale.

 

Suede Booties with elasticated side panel

Sz 7

Was £14.99  Now £10

 

These are great everyday shoes that go with everything. I really like the fact that they are slightly pointed and have a small (about an inch) heel which means you can wear them on a night out with out feeling silly wearing flats.

Next pair were also from New Look and were my shoes of the week on 23/12/12.

My third pair were from Primark in their sale section.

 

 

Blue Velvet Chelsea Boots

Were £13 Now £5

 

I have had my eyes on these for a while but didn't feel like I would wear them enough to spend £13 on them. I spotted these on sale in the Manchester Primark and picked them up without second thought. They have already been on a night out and are really comfy and warm.

 

I also picked up this pair in Primark.

 

 

Navy Nautical Pumps

Sz 8

£8

 

Whilst they were not on sale I fell in love with these straight away. I  really love the nautical theme for spring and have many things to mix and match. At £8 these are a bargain.

 

 

The latest pair I have picked up are Dr Martens from Topshop.

 

 

Carrie Cut Out Floral Dr Marten Shoes

Sz 7

Was £80 Now £40

 



These have been in my local Topshop for ages. I would go in and pick them up, comment on how lovely they were and put them back. On Boxing day I rose early to hit the sales and eventually made it around to the store and found these on the sale rack. After much umming and ahhing I put them back because £40 was still a lot to spend.

 

However as I was at the till paying for some other bits I remembered you could use your student card to get 10% off even in the sales. This meant these lovelies were just £36. Needless to say I headed back to the shoe section to try and find them in my size. Luck was in hand and I walked out with another bag (and box) in hands.

I think this takes my Dr Marten count up to 7. I blame my Dad for ever introducing me to them.

 

 

So 5 pairs so far but no doubt they number will continue to rise into the New Year. I hope you are all enjoying the holidays and I will be back soon.

Shoes of the week - 10/10/12 ASOS Applause Chelsea boots

Hi all

Due to my new timetable for uni I am going to be moving my regular "Shoe of the Week" slot to be posted on a Wednesday rather than a Tuesday. This is just so I can guarantee it will go up on time and I will have chance to post.

Life in London is going well. I started my first lectures this week which were interesting but after 4 months of not doing any maths I quickly realised I needed a refresher before attempting the homework.

I have also manage to explore quite a bit :- Camden market , Covent garden , Oxford street and Harrods have all been visited but, there are plenty more things to see and do with plenty of time to do them.

My shoes of the week are ASOS APPLAUSE Chelsea Ankle Boots

 

These boots remind me of Dr Martens but without the price tag. In a typical Chelsea boot style with the elasticated side inserts and tabs to pull on these boots won't be a trouble getting on and off.

 

The pattern is incredibly detailed meaning very little is needed with these shoes to make an outfit stand out. The colours used (mixing reds and greys on a burgundy/oxblood background) are all hot for A/W this year.

 

 



As far as winter boots go , these babies seem ideal with wider and thicker treads not normally seen on boots at the cheaper end of the scale. The rubber soles will keep you gripping in the rain and snow from October to February without wearing down too much.

At £35 I feel you are getting a real bargain for your money. Whilst the uppers are not leather the textile detail and design gives these boots their character. The floral pattern is not overwhelming and these boots can be worn in many ways and as part of many styles.

I would wear these fabulous Chelsea boots with black tights and a burgundy skater dress to show them off or with peg leg trousers and a tucked in shirt to rock the androgynous look.


Overall I give 7 / 10 for these. Brilliant boots but not made to last for more than one season.

New Look Sale Stuff (Small Haul)

Hi guys

This is just a quick post to show off what I have bought in the New Look Sale. I regularly shop in New Look so the sale is a must shop opportunity. This was perfect for me as it has fallen just before I head off to Uni.

I didn't pick up as much as I would do normally because I'm trying to save some money for shopping in London next week but I still picked up 5 items.

The first item is this Blue and Black Striped Peplum Style top.

This is was previously put in work/office range area of my local store but I really liked the collar and peplum style combined. As a curvy lady the peplum hides a multitude of sins whilst the collar gives it a bit of quirk.                                                                                                    Normal Price : £16.99     Sale Price : £9

 

The Next Item I picked up were these Leather Panelled Leggings.

 

 I bought a pair similar to these in the Next Sale at the beginning of summer and LOVE them so when I saw these in my size I had to pick them up.                          Normal Price: £12.99       Sale Price: £6

 

I also picked up this Body Con Zip Front Dress.

 

This dress looks great on and will go with a multitude of shoes. I intend to be rocking this during freshers week when I want a quick going out outfit.

The last piece of clothing I picked up was a Khaki Skull Printed Oversized T-shirt.

 

Khaki green isn't a colour I would normally go for but I really liked the skull design and it is everywhere at the minute so I thought I'd give it a try.

The last item I picked up was a pair of shoes. Normally I don't really pick up trainer type shoes in New Look as I have found them to be narrow and short on the sizes but I went out on a limb for these and was pleased to discover they fit nicely.

My lovely purchases have now been packed ready to go on Saturday morning. I look forward to styling these in the next few weeks and may even consider posting outfits if I can find a helpful camera person in my halls.
